What this website measures

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure how many people visit the site and which pages they read. Our measurement ID is G-3FPDY075SM. We use it for traffic measurement only — we do not use it to advertise to you, and we do not try to identify individual visitors from it.

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser through its gtag.js script. There is no cookie banner on this site, so if you would rather not be counted you have two options: block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's ownAnalytics opt-out browser add-on. Either works without affecting anything else on the site.

What the booking system collects

Bookings are made onbooking.petlodgejo.com, which is a separate system from this website. It collects your contact details and your pet's details so that we can provide the service you have booked — boarding, Doggy Day Camp, grooming, training or pick-up and drop-off. That includes your pet's medical and dietary information, their vaccination record, and your vet's details, which we hold because we need them to look after your pet and to act quickly if something goes wrong.

Photographs and video of your pet

We photograph and film pets during their stay so we can send you daily updates. Under clause 12 of our booking terms, those photographs and videos may also be used — without identifying you personally — for marketing and on our own channels, such as@pet.lodge.jo, unless you opt out in writing.

If you would rather we did not, tell us in writing and we will note it against your pet. You can do that at any time, including when you drop them off.

How long we keep things

We keep your records while your pet is a client of ours, and for a reasonable period afterwards — partly because most owners come back, and partly because vaccination and veterinary history is worth having on file. We have not set a fixed period, and we would rather say so than publish a number we do not actually work to.

Who else sees it

Your pet's health information may be shared with a veterinary practice if your pet needs treatment while in our care. Beyond that, we do not sell your details or pass them to anyone for marketing.

Asking us about your information

If you want to know what we hold, correct something that is wrong, ask us to delete it, or opt out of photographs, contact us and we will deal with it ourselves — Pet Lodge is family run and there is no separate department to go through.

If we change how any of this works, we will change this page. It describes what we do today rather than what we intend to do.
